Hobby Lobby is good for more than just DIY. They actually have quite a large selection of home dcor, including furniture. The great thing about their home dcor stock is that they often have items similar to what you would find at Bed Bath & Beyond, for about two-thirds or half the price. My guess is that Hobby Lobby is able to offer lower prices on home dcor because it isnt their primary business. Their selection is sometimes built with an eye toward DIY, but there are plenty of stand-alone goodies to be purchased there.
Always try to use large furniture articles, such as large bookshelves, large and full upholster sofas, velvet covered chairs, and similar fabrics. If you have more than one bookshelf, you can arrange them in such a way that they will seem like room dividers.
It is nice to have some marine showpieces that speak of the sea. If you have nice shelves running along the bedroom wall or in the living room, you can place these randomly about among your books. Seamen, little sailors, seashells, pirates, mermaids, a whale or the infamous ship in a bottle can be your choicest showpiece types. Place these little showpieces in clusters that are spread out and also not overdone in quantity. Spread it around the house or use it as a centerpiece for the dining or center table. Make sure they're either woodwork or colored detailed showpieces that don't chip away or look artificial. Going with a more realistic feel makes a home look much more pleasing to one's eye.
A porch unlike the deck, is an extension of the living room. The overall design of the porch allows you to furnish it with pieces of furniture like tables and upholstered furniture making it a private enclosure.
