If space is an issue for you, there's still one way to incorporate the gallery wall into your home. Use shelves to layer frames, art pieces, and various trinkets to make it work. Depending on what area you've targeted, see how many shelves you can fit without making it too much to handle. Also, be careful as to not go all the way up till the ceiling, or the entire wall will look bulky and unnecessary.
Floating wall shelves can be used for wall decorations. Fixing them creatively on the walls can add a lovely element to the entire room and give it a decorative look. One of the large wall decorating ideas is to fix a long floating shelf and two smaller shelves above it creatively. Placing them in step pattern is another idea. Another idea is to fix them one below another on a narrow pillar. Make sure you keep enough space between the shelves so that you have the liberty to place the showpieces. You should plan in advance what you will be placing on the shelves and accordingly fix them. Make sure you fix them at the right height so that the object placed over it is perfectly visible.
Looking at the color wheel, the colors across from each other are complementary, meaning they work well together. Colors next to each other are analogous, and also work well. So where are the discordants? Nearby―for example, look at blue. Orange is its complementary, but look next door at yellow and red―these are blue's discordants. They are neither complementary nor analogous. But of course, that's not always enough―blue and red are certainly jarring together, but blue and yellow work all the time. So, another way to make discordants is to take colors that work well together and reverse their tonal values. Yellow is usually the lighter color, and blue is usually darker―so what if you used a deep gold with a sky blue? Suddenly, things aren't so pretty anymore.
