You can go for a nice, dotted wallpaper, and balance the look with a soft sofa, or you can have plain walls, with dotted curtains, blinds, rugs, sofas, and cushions. If you want to keep everything plain, then all you need to do is add in a few vases that have a polka-dotted design, filled with fresh flowers, and you are good to go. If you are hell-bent on accentuating your walls with dots, use a subtle wallpaper for only one wall, or get a few pictures of polka dots, and hang them together on the wall.

Your home does more than just provide you with a roof over your head and walls to keep you safe, it speaks to strangers, telling them about your taste, preferences, and style. That said, a stranger is most likely to judge you on the way the entrance to your home looks, the artistic landscape, and not-to-forget, the address plaque, lamp posts, and mailboxes lining the entrance to your home.

There's a lot for experimenting with unique ideas, and that's where the space above your dining table comes into play. Have you thought about hanging vibrant ceramic plates on your wall? If not, now's the right time. You purchase them in bulk, or collect individual pieces as and when you find them. On another note, how does a monogram wall sound to you? It certainly has the charm to brighten up any room.

It had floral prints and contrasting paint colors that were subdued yet not keeping up with the times. Everything in it from the furniture to the showpieces, went against the entire home's set up. The one thing that did stand out quite boldly and might I add, in my face - was a center table with a smooth finished solid (possibly marble) that had three dolphins bathed in seaform color, standing back-to-back while the table's flat top balanced on their snouts. It was hideous to say the least. They probably should have gone with something more subtle like woodwork and engraved dolphins, and not something out of Alice in Wonderland.
